You need ...I think you are stuck in the 50s an 60s. You need to be more catholic in your movie tastes and viewing. I love foreign films, especially the Brits and the French. You need to update them with Eric Roemer, Claude Berri, Ang Lee, Mike Newell and Mike Lee and others. And look at American film noir classics from the 40s and the great MGM musicals from the 50s. Not to mention the films of more recent directors like Stanley Donen, Norman Jewison, Robert Altman, Sidney Pollock, Robert Redford, Martin Scorsese, et al. <br /><br />I enjoyed the Artist as a diversion, but it is not a great film.
